FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need a referral?
No. You can contact me directly to begin the process.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes. Virtual appointments are available for clients who prefer to meet over the phone or online via video conference.
What can I expect during my first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll talk about what has brought you to counselling or therapy, discuss your goals, and explore what you hope to gain from our work together. Based on your needs, I'll recommend a therapeutic approach that best supports your journey.
As we continue working together, we'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust our approach as needed. You are always welcome to ask questions throughout the process, and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
How will I know if counselling or therapy is right for me?
Counselling or therapy can benefit anyone looking for support, guidance, or practical tools to navigate life's challenges. You don't need to be in crisis to reach out.
Finding the right counsellor is an important part of the therapeutic process. I often compare it to finding a comfortable pair of shoes, you want the right fit.
During the first few sessions, you'll have the opportunity to see if we're a good match. Building trust takes time, and it's completely normal if you don't feel ready to open up right away. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and respected.
If, together, we determine that another therapist may be a better fit for your needs, I'm happy to help connect you with additional resources. Finding the right support is what's most important.

How often will I attend counselling?

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide as much notice as possible. This allows the appointment time to be offered to another client. Information about the cancellation policy will be reviewed during the intake process.
